Delivering Safe Civil Support Through Local Knowledge and Experience

We support civil, infrastructure, and mining projects through traffic management, heavy diesel plant hire, and skilled Aboriginal plant operators. Our work is grounded in strong regional knowledge, proven operational capability, and a deep respect for working on Country.
With over 40 years of combined industry experience across our leadership and workforce, Giles Contracting is trusted by government bodies, Tier 1 contractors, and regional organisations to deliver safe, efficient, and accountable civil support services.

Giles Contracting was established to create meaningful, long term opportunities for Aboriginal people in the Kimberley while delivering professional civil support services to industry.
Based in Fitzroy Crossing, our business operates with a strong connection to Country, community, and cultural responsibility. We understand that working on Aboriginal land carries obligations beyond technical delivery, including respect for Traditional Owners, cultural protocols, and local relationships.
By employing a majority Aboriginal workforce and prioritising local engagement, we ensure that the benefits of regional projects flow back into the communities where the work takes place, supporting economic participation, skills development, and long term sustainability.

Waylon Stevens is a proud Lunga, Kija, Bunuba, and Yawuru man and the owner and Managing Director of Giles Contracting. Raised in Fitzroy Crossing, Waylon brings over 10 years of high level operational experience across major civil and mining projects throughout the Kimberley and Pilbara regions.
Waylon’s leadership is shaped by both technical expertise and lived experience on Country. He understands the operational demands of large scale project delivery alongside the cultural responsibilities that come with working on Aboriginal land.
Driven by a strong commitment to community empowerment, Waylon has built Giles Contracting as a business focused on creating sustainable pathways, not just jobs. He actively mentors his team, champions local employment, and builds long term relationships based on respect, accountability, and shared values.

Marty Stevens is a highly respected leader within the Giles Contracting team, bringing deep cultural knowledge, patience, and extensive on ground experience to every project.
In 2025, Marty stepped into a Project Supervisor role on the Orphans Roads Project in the Fitzroy Valley, where he led crews on Country, ensured adherence to safe work practices, and supported the development of younger Aboriginal workers entering the civil and traffic management industries.
Beyond daily supervision, Marty plays a key mentoring role, sharing cultural protocols, guiding respectful land practices, and strengthening relationships with Traditional Owners and local communities.

Safety is our highest priority, for both our workforce and the communities in which we operate.
We integrate robust safety systems, training, and site compliance into every aspect of our operations to ensure controlled, efficient, and safe project delivery.

As a Kimberley based Aboriginal owned business, we are committed to working respectfully on Country and engaging meaningfully with local communities and Traditional Owners.
